During these last few months, the financial crisis has taken a toll on our savings and income. Despite this situation, most of our sponsors have continued to hope for a better future and have decided to trust enough to include the students of Chiapas, Mexico, in that future. With the help of the students are their parents, we were able to weed and the corn and bean fields along the area around the coffee plants. Thanks to a donation from the local government, we were able to build a wall on one side of the Palapa to protect the statues of the saints. Pilot Program for Ceramic Tile Studio in Chiapas |
The
chicano muralist, Roberto Delgado, has offered to teach the Mayan
students the art of painting and of making ceramic tiles while working
on a mural proposed for the Chiapas State University. Of course, all we
need is the funding. For more information, click here ...
